MAGAZINE GENRES PT1

Welcome back!

    For today we are going to be talking about different magazine genres. Some of these genres include cooking, sports, fashion, and health. For magazines to reach the right target there are three different: General interest, Special interest and Professional magazines.

• General interest: This categories is written for a general audience. This can include food, fashion, entertainment, sport or home and gardening. This are available in grocery stores and they have a glossy cover with bold tittles, articles, graphics, and different advertisements. Some popular examples include the People, Time and You magazine.

• Special interest: This type of magazines cover a more specific topic to a particular audience. For example a sport magazine solely focused on baseball. Although it's in the topic of sports baseball is the only sport they are bringing information to. Some of this magazines include History, National Geographic and Cosmopolitan.

• Professional magazines: These kinds of magazines are targeted to different professional individuals. They are similar to special interest magazines except these are targeted to professional individuals. This include Money, Forbes, and Boston Top 10.
